ALL ABOUT MAZZY ROSE
Mazzy Rose, (born 14th November 1998) was raised in Yarraville, a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. She went to Kingsville Primary School and Graduated from Melbourne Girls' College in 2017, and her favourite subjects included media, art, design and music. She also grew up dancing for 13 years, doing ballet, jazz, contemporary and a bit of hip/hop. She is currently in her third year of University, studying the Bachelor of Music at Victoria University. Ever since she was 4 years old, Rose has loved playing music and performing it. She started learning piano when she was 6 and started learning guitar when she was 10, and is now self taught in both instruments and singing. Over the years, Rose has performed live music for many Primary school and High school concerts, as well as numerous performances for university.Â
She loves to write music and record them on the software GarageBand, and has been using that software for 15 years. Rose has always been a very creative and innovative person, and this has helped develop her skills in composing various styles of music and she has been able to expand her ideas since starting at University. She is also very skilled at music theory, which helps her to work more efficiently in her song writing and composing.Â
Rose is hard working, and knows how to work in groups as well as work independently. Her versatile style makes her unique, as she likes to write many different songs that include many different genres such as pop, rock, funk, folk, alternative indie, blues etc. and she'd like to explore even more genres in the future. She's interested in experimenting with psychedelic genres in music, such as rock and techno. She also hopes to create music with the genres of jazz fusion, country music and soul music.
In 2020, when the coronavirus took over the world, Rose had to do university online. This made it difficult to study music, but it was an opportunity for Rose to further advance her skills in recording songs. Even though it has been tough since the pandemic hit, Rose has had plenty of time to create original songs for people to listen to.

Mazzy Rose's main musical genres include singer/songwriter, dream pop, rock, folk, jazz, blues, indie, alternative and some country. These genres are based on her musical influencers. The following bands/artists are just some of the many that have inspired her throughout the years to create music: The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Amy Winehouse, Michael Jackson, London Grammar, Miley Cyrus, Lana Del Rey, Joni Mitchell, The Doors, Fleetwood Mac, ABBA, David Bowie, 10CC, Elton John, Queen, The Beach Boys, Billie Eilish, Lady GaGa, Coldplay, P!nk, plus many more. Mazzy Rose also draws inspirations from her life experiences, when it comes to love, loss, family, travel, mental illness, heart break and mood. Some of her strengths include harmonies, composing, songwriting, but not limited to one band or style.
HER IMAGE
Mazzy Rose composes and producers all her own work using the software GarageBand. Her music is very independently made, she almost never asks people to collaborate with her. This relates to her personality which is quite introverted, however, she loves to socialise and help other people with their music collaboration. Her music is often vulnerable, expressive, honest, open and strong. For years, Mazzy Rose has been creating her image surrounding her music and hopefully her music career, which is a 70's style girl with blonde hair, edgy look, natural look, and with summer vibes. Her EP/Album covers would represent this image, and her posters and instagram photos would too.
HER VALUES
Mazzy Rose’s values include being an advocate for higher representation of females in the music industry, and an advocate for equal rights in the community for all people, no matter their gender, culture or sexuality. She’s also is an advocate for the LGBTQI+ community, as she herself is bisexual. This is why her target audience for her music is not limited to a certain age group or certain community, it is aimed at whoever likes listening to it. She also has environmental and sustainable values, as she understands the seriousness of climate change and fears for what it will be like for her generation and many generations after her in the future. Mazzy Rose holds high regard for her family, her boyfriend, and her close friendships. She believes music is extremely important and people in the industry need to be paid more than what they are. She is also an activist for mental health.
